Another great example of a lawful thief that I’ve used in many games/editions is the Tomb Raider/explorer (this was used by TSR in Second Edition for Rudolph Van Richten). This is a character who is, in all ways a thief class, yet uses his skills specifically to navigate dungeons. He is a thief who is exclusively an adventurer. This character could easily be justified as being Lawful (or Lawful Good in other editions) as he’s a thief in name only. This is a prime example of my saying, “There are no limitations if your argument is good enough.”
